Had a great day at Lobos today with a ton of friends and some great diving....Plan was to dive with Rob R and John K... Scooters if available and some skills also to stay sharp.

The day started out with a quick look see at Breakwater and meeting Keri from across the pond.... The lawn was packed with classes and the water didn't look at all that bad. But thanks to Don we had a spot to dive Lobos so off we went. A quick stop for scooters and we rolled into Whalers cove to what looked like a Long hose/BAUE convention.



We tried to hustle to make up for time spent BS'ing around and was pleasantly surprised to find clear water right off the boat ramp. You could clearly see the bottom.


So a quick GUE-EDGE, bubble check....


drop down, stabilize for a minute... then it was trigger time.... We only had 2 scooters so we towed out to the Sand Channel and then kicked around Cannery Pt wall.

Strollin down Main Street

Now for those who haven't dove Lobos there is a sand channel that people use to navigate out of the cove... often times you run into the other guys going in/out of the cove... but today it was ridiculous! Friggin Main Street! We scoot on out and start kicking.... we almost immediately run into Nils, Dionna and Ildiko coming back from their Reef Check survey. We kick out a litle more and then at the Lone Metridium we run into Jonathan/Rob L/Doc Wong






We make our way a little bit further and onto the start of Beto's Reef....


and after a quick tour we start making our way back.



on the way in we see Clinton and Mike J kicking out....

We end up at the worm patch mound and see Mike J and Clinton kick on out. We clip off the scoots and do an OOA drill and John K pops a bag for practice.... as we are hitting our stops this random diver in Pink comes and hits me with an OOA!!! (did I mention this is still on Main Street?) Cmon now! We have another 3 man team (Ted/Allison/Matt) hovering above us htting us up for gas... I guess when you have such hoovers as buddies you have to hit up other teams for gas when you can huh?

So pretty much we ran into pretty much everyone we knew out there today... Main Street.... What can I say...

After the dive the main topic of discussion was John's new suit... There's so much I can say about these pictures.... but let's leave it to the gang to put captions on these.

Plans of a second dive were thwarted by a Mommy seal and her pup hangging out on the boat ramp for a little nursing action
